Having won the quiz at Bishops Stortford a month or two previously, we were invited to take part in The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity Corporate Quiz which took place on Thursday 11 July 2019 at the CloudFM County Ground in Chelmsford.
As always, we were very pleased to fulfil the commitment and the evening proved to be very successful with some £1,600 raised for the charity.
Several regular members of the Lambert Chapman quiz team were unavailable, but this provided the opportunity for Dan McIntyre and Callum O’Keefe to make their debuts, joining Grant Cook, Lisa Greenwood, Wendy Eveling and Paul Short.
The team performed creditably coming in twelfth equal out of the eighteen teams taking part. A handful more marks would have seen a comfortable finish in the top half of the table.
The event was won by Tees Law under their nom de guerre (Brain Teasers), finishing five points clear of the rest of the field. Our congratulations to Josh, David and the rest of their team. A most enjoyable evening was enhanced by the excellent bar staff and by the mid-quiz cuisine.
The success of the evening owed much to Karen, the charity fundraiser, and also to the quiz master whose format of dedicating each round to a particular decade ensured that all ages could participate in the quiz.
