#2SuitsAndAGolfCourse – A Charity Golf Challenge with our friends at Birkett Long
Lambert Chapman’s charity of the year to 30 June 2020 was Essex and Herts Air Ambulance but because of COVID-19 we didn’t have the chance to do any events at all in our last quarter. As we all know they do a brilliant job for our counties and rely on fundraising efforts to keep the helicopter flying. We also recently spoke with Farleigh Hospice and they told me a very large number that they are behind in fundraising for the last 4 months.
As a result we are working with Birkett Long who are also supporting Essex and Herts Air Ambulance till the end of the year to try and raise some much needed funds for these two local causes.
The Challenge:
Our aim is to raise money for the two charities by playing 18 holes of golf over 18 Essex and Hertfordshire courses, one hole at each course, in one day on 17 September 2020 which we have timed to conclude the National Air Ambulance Week fundraising campaign which runs from 7-13 September.
The first tee-off will take place in Frinton-on-Sea at 6.30am and our two golfers will play throughout the day, ending at Saffron Walden, hopefully before night-fall but with around 150 driving miles between courses, it may be touch and go.
The Golfers:
The golfers will be Nick Forsyth on behalf of Lambert Chapman and Tracey Dickens for Birkett Long.
During September the golf won’t be a problem but the trouble will be the travel between courses! We aim to start in Frinton and finish at Saffron Walden having taken in courses in Brentwood, Broxbourne and Buntingford.
You can view the FULL CARD AND ITINERY for those of you who are keen golfers to get an idea of our route and maybe the selected holes to play.

Supporting the charties who support us all-year-round:
You can sponsor Nick and Tracey by making a donation to either (or both) of our Charity JustGiving Pages:
Make a donation to FARLEIGH HOSPICE >>
If you prefer, you can also provide an offline donation by cash or cheque via our Braintree office. (Payable to Lambert Chapman LLP and marked Golf Challenge).
Anything you can donate will be gratefully received but sharing the event on social media or with your family and friends will expand the network of contributors and help the charities benefit even further.
Nick and Tracey will be trying to put together a decent card on the day but whatever their outcome, if we all get together we can make it a worthwhile day for the charities.
You will be able to follow the day on social media as they hurtle around the Essex countryside before heading to Hertfordshire in the afternoon. Make a note to take a look on 17 September and don’t forget to share in the run up when you’ll see the hashtag #TwoSuitsAndAGolfCourse doing the rounds.
Oh and don’t forget to make a donation!
Thank you for your support.
