We are delighted to reveal that our Senior Manager, Mark Pearson, has secured a place to take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2019!
Following our announcement that Lambert Chapman LLP would be supporting the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity as our Charity of the year 2018/19, our awesome staff across our three offices in Braintree, Maldon and London have totally got on board and we’re all working hard to make this our best year of fundraising to-date.
As part of our Partnership, the charity invited us to take one of their Golden Bond marathon places and keen runner Mark was first off the line to snap it up.
Having already run a half distance, it was always on Mark’s list to complete a full marathon, but he missed out on a ballot place for the past 4 years. His father has already set an impressive marathon time of under 4 hours, which he is keen to beat… nothing like a bit of friendly competition to keep those feet moving!
We will be following Mark’s story through training and in the run up to the big day on our website, newswire and social media.
Mark has set himself a fundraising target of £2,000 and he has a few events in the pipeline which will go towards achieving this total. In addition, he is asking his colleagues, clients, family and friends for sponsorship donations. This can be done at the office or online by using his JUST GIVING donation link below:
On behalf of Mark and everybody here at Lambert Chapman LLP – thanks for your support!
10 August 2018 (Posted by Mark Pearson): I’m In!
I am over the moon that the charity accepted my application to run for them in 2019. I have entered the public ballot every year and have never been successful. I always said I would do it before I turned 30 and as that milestone has been and gone, I figured this was too good an opportunity to miss. I already run every weekend covering 8-9 miles, but juggling a young family, house renovations and work commitments sometimes make it tricky to get out. I’ve got a training plan in place and I’m confident that I’ll be able to increase my distances over the coming weeks.
19 September 2018 (Posted by Mark Pearson): Feeling Real Now…
I received my Helen Rollason running vest yesterday and I’ve been working on my fundraising plans. The first is my Just Giving page which is now up and running and open for donations. I would be so grateful for any sponsorship, big or small, which will all go towards my fundraising target. Training continues and I’m hoping to get out at the weekend.
